Volunteer logo: "Leading to Bright Future"For the safety of our students, Leander Independent School District requires all potential volunteers who plan to work at any campus to receive a background check by the Department of Public Safety (DPS).* This check will be completed using the Raptor Volunteer Management System.

* All volunteers MUST complete a NEW volunteer application EVERY year, regardless of the previous year's approval status. There is no login or password needed to complete the new application.

How to become an LISD Volunteer:

  1. Complete and submit the Raptor Volunteer Application**
  2. The background check should be complete in 2-3 business days.
  3. Once approved, an email will be sent to the volunteer containing their login credentials and account information for their volunteer portal. This portal will not work  until the volunteer is approved.

**To optimize viewing capabilities on the online volunteer application, it is best displayed on a large surface area screen (ex. PC, iPad, tablet).**

Will Leander ISD employees wishing to volunteer still need to complete a volunteer application?

LISD’s volunteer program is the envy of other districts across the state. Last year, more than 14,000 LISD volunteers donated countless hours, contributing time and energy and demonstrating the importance of education to a generation of impressionable students.

A volunteer’s tasks are limitless, including such things as tutoring and mentoring students, chaperoning school dances and field trips, serving as room parents, helping with field day and book fairs, serving Thanksgiving lunches, stuffing of weekly take-home folders, helping with class projects, laminating, being a literacy partner and helping in the campus office. The list is endless, and we know that each of our volunteers/mentors contributes to making this a great place to learn.

Each campus’ volunteer coordinator organizes and implements the program on their campus, helping each individual person maximize her or his volunteer time.
